Towing

Retrieving Your Vehicle
If your vehicle was towed by Hamilton Municipal Parking System, you must obtain a Vehicle Release by visiting our office (80 Main Street West) before the towing contractor can release the vehicle to you. Hamilton Municipal Parking System will only release the vehicle to the registered owner.

The registered owner must provide the following in order to obtain the Vehicle Release:

  • Photo identification; AND
  • Proof of MTO Vehicle Registration Ownership

If the owner does not retrieve the vehicle within 60 days of the date of tow, the vehicle becomes the property of the towing agency and the owner may be liable for towing/storage costs (as per the Repair and Storage Liens Act).

Estimate of Towing Fees
Towing Fees can vary based on the following and are subject to change without notice:

  • vehicle weight/condition
  • amount of time spent at the scene of the tow
  • length of time vehicle is in storage
