William Schwenger Park
William Schwenger Park is an existing neighbourhood park located on 86 Claudette Gate, east of the St Thomas More Catholic Secondary School. It has an existing playground with play structure and a swing set, park lighting and asphalt walkways leading to the main park entrance at Upper Paradise Road, and also from Ottaviano Drive and Claudette Gate into the playground. The park is 3.57 ha./8.82 acres in size and nestled between wood lots to the east and west, an open green lawn in the south, and backs towards a grassy slope in the north.
The development plan for the park is to construct a spray pad and a sun shelter. A number of options on the layout of the sun shelter and the spray pad in relationship to the existing playground and swing set will be shown at the PIC. Precedent images of sun shelter and spray pad will be on display panels. Forestry will plant more trees to compliment those in the existing wood lots. These new trees will provide breeze and shade in the summer for park users.
Please come, provide us with your comments, and help us pick the option you prefer. The Councillor, City staff and Consultant will be present to answer your questions.
