Where can I obtain information on the Traffic Island program?

For information on the Traffic Island Beautification Program, call (905) 546-2424 x 4228 or x5386.

Please note, in 2003 Parks staff have implemented changes to the Traffic Island Beautification Program. In past years all Traffic Islands were planted with annual plants. It was determined that annuals were having difficulty thriving in certain locations. To alleviate this problem, 76 Traffic Islands have been converted to perennial and woody plants. It is anticipated that this change will improve the appearance of the islands in these problematic locations. In addition, 170 Traffic Islands have been planted with annuals.

Additionally, a number of problematic floral beds throughout the City have also been converted. Visually some of the converted islands and floral beds may appear to have fewer plants; this is due to the plant material being young and requiring time to mature.
