Heat Warning Notification for the City of Hamilton

HAMILTON, ON - – The Medical Officer of Health for the City of Hamilton has initiated a Heat Warning beginning on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Heat Warnings stay in effect until they are cancelled or escalated to an Extended Heat Warning

A heat event is expected today through Monday and may persist into Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

  • Maximum temperatures today: 30 to 32 degrees Celsius (Humidex 38 to 40).
  • Maximum temperatures Monday: 31 to 33 degrees Celsius (Humidex 39 to 41).
  • Minimum overnight temperatures: 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

How you can stay cool

The City of Hamilton and participating community agencies are responding to the heat by offering “cool places” to go during all stages of a heat event. These locations can be identified by a “Cool Down Here” sign at the entrance.
