Harvest Happenings

In the food bank during the month of October, our staff and volunteers will feature and promote specific fall produce – both fruits and vegetables –  to the 1,200 families. The promotion will include the distribution of recipe cards which will provide the following information:

  • Benefits
  • Preparation and storing
  • Recipes

In addition, volunteers will share their knowledge of the featured fruit or vegetable to the 1,200 families that shop in the food bank throughout the month. The fruits and vegetables offered can include but not limited to the following

  • Carrots
  • Apples
  • Squashes
  • Beans
  • Pears
  • Greens
  • Onions
  • Beans
  • Melons
