Current Development Charge Rates and Information Development charges apply to residential and non-residential developments. They allow the City to recover the growth-related costs associated with the capital infrastructure needed to service new development and redevelopment within the municipality. |
Community Benefits Charges The City of Hamilton has begun work to establish a new Community Benefits Charge (CBC) Strategy and By-law under the Planning Act. The proposed Community Benefits Charge Strategy and By-law will be presented to Hamilton City Council in June 2022 for consideration. |
Parkland Dedication Fees The City of Hamilton's Parkland By-law 18-126 requires the conveyance of land for park or other public recreational purposes as a condition of development or redevelopment or the subdivision of land. |
