Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule
The Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule ensures that contractors and sub-contractors pay wages at least equal or greater than the wages set out in the Fair Wage Schedule and is applicable to all City construction contracts.

- Construction contracts over $500,000 closed on and after June 12, 2013
- Construction contracts over $100,000 closed before June 12, 2013
Contractors statement of compliance
As part of the Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule, it is the Contactor's responsibility to submit a statutory declaration (PDF, 16 KB) after substantial performance, confirming that the Contractor and its Sub-Contractors complied with the Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule.
Fair Wage complaint
The Fair Wage Complaint Form (PDF, 129 KB) is to be completed to submit a complaint to the City of Hamilton alleging non-compliance with the Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule by any Contractor or Sub-Contractor performing construction work on a City Construction Contract.
All complaints must be submitted in writing on the completed Fair Wage Complaint Form to the Procurement Manager no later than 21 calendar days following substantial performance of the related City Construction Contract.
Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule complaint reports
Complaints investigated and resulting audits performed pursuant to the Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule are reported to the appropriate Standing Committee of Council.

Bondfield Construction Company Ltd.
In accordance with the Fair Wage Policy and Schedule and the City of Hamilton Procurement Policy, the following recommendation, as amended by Audit, Finance & Administration Committee, was carried by City of Hamilton Council May 11, 2016:
(a) That, due to Bondfield Construction Company Ltd. (“Bondfield”) being found non-compliant with the Fair Wage Policy and Fair Wage Schedule three times within a three year period, and in accordance with the City’s Procurement Policy, staff be directed to reject any current and future bids, proposals or quotations received from Bondfield, or any of its related corporate or individual entities, until and including May 11, 2022;
(b) That the City of Hamilton not enter into any contract with Bondfield Construction Company Ltd. or any of its related corporate or individual entities, until and including May 11, 2022.
