The Trillium Award is meant to recognize residential front gardens and landscaping.

For properties that are not residential front gardens, the Community Trillium Award is available. This award is for:

  • industrial
  • commercial
  • institutional
  • small businesses
  • churches
  • schools
  • community centres
  • apartment buildings
  • condominium complexes
  • multi-residential properties

Residents can nominate their own garden or other gardens they feel would be worthy of being recognized in either of the Trillium Awards.
Please select the appropriate award based on the property type being nominated.

Nominator Information

Thank you for your interest in nominating a garden for a Trillium Award. Nominated gardens will be judged and scored based on the set Trillium Awards criteria.

Trillium Award for residential front garden or Community Trillium Award for multi-residential or commercial gardens.

Please upload ONE photo as a property reference. Please ensure the:

  • Photo is taken from a public street perspective
  • Photo includes the front of the house
  • Photo has been taken in the 2021 season
  • No people or pets are in the photo
  • Gardens will not be judged based on the photo uploaded

This nomination application authorizes the City of Hamilton to permit photographers/videographers employed or designated by the City of Hamilton to take or use submitted photographs and/or film/video footage. Such photographs, film/video footage and recorded comments may be used for publications and broadcasts which may include but not be limited to the following: newspapers, radio, television, staff newsletters, social media, news releases, pamphlets, brochures, flyers, and promotional publications and the applicant shall not be entitled to compensation as a result of such use from the City of Hamilton.

Notice of Collection

The City of Hamilton collects information under authority of Section 227 of the Municipal Act, 2001. Any personal information collected for Hamilton Trillium Awards Program will be used for determining eligibility for a Trillium Award. By providing your email address, you are consenting to receiving emails from the City of Hamilton and/or their agents/contractors for purposes related to this program. Information collected for this initiative may be stored on servers located in Canada and the United States and may be subject to Canadian and/or American laws.
