The Hamilton Trillium Awards program is made possible thanks to our wonderful volunteers who contribute their personal time to judge properties. We are looking for people who love to garden and want to contribute to their community. Register online to become a Volunteer Judge.
Volunteer Judge Requirements
- An appreciation for horticulture and gardening
- Some free time during the months of June and July to visit properties
- Ability to attend a short but mandatory, evening Judge’s workshop in early spring
The Role of the Judge
Volunteer judges attend a special judge’s workshop to better prepare them to evaluate the criteria of the Trillium Awards. Each Volunteer Judge is provided a list of nominated properties in a ward to judge and score. The judges will submit their scores which are then tabulated for all nominations in each ward. The highest scores will be presented with a White Trillium Award.
Judges will be provided with all the tools to assist in judging properties. The Judges Workshop will provide an overview of the program and detailed judging criteria.
