Caseload Size

Importance

This measures the number of Hamilton families dependant on Ontario Works for basic food and shelter needs. Ontario Works cases can include singles, couples, parents with children and temporary care children.

Story behind the numbers

Caseloads are tracked and reported monthly by the Province.A caseload can include single individuals, couples without children and families. The workload and complexity of interventions required to support and assist participants toward sustainable employment varies greatly within a caseload.

Performance improvements

Reducing the caseload size indicates that more individuals / couples / families with children have achieved financial independence from Ontario Works.
