OW Exits

Importance

This measures the number of families who no longer require financial support from Ontario Works and that have gained employment or have found another source of income (e.g. Employment Insurance, WSIB, ODSP, Old Age Security etc.).

Story behind the numbers

People receiving Ontario Works are required to participate in employment activities and pursue all other available sources of income. Ontario Works supports the individual by linking them to the appropriate community resources and financially supporting their employment activities to promote success.

Performance improvements

Increasing the number of cases who have secured employment or an alternate income source indicates that these families / couples / individuals now have financial income above the Ontario Works threshold amount.  Case management and program supports are ongoing to improve this measure.
