Candidate Information Session
A Municipal Candidate Information session is to be held April 9th, 2018 at 7 pm at Hamilton City Hall in Council Chambers. This session is provided by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and provides potential candidates the opportunity to learn more about the Municipal Election process. We encourage all potential candidates to attend.

Changes to the Municipal Elections Act

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs reviews the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 after each Ontario municipal election to determine if it meets the needs of Ontario communities. As a result of these reviews, changes to the Municipal Elections Act were made which will be in place in time for the next municipal election.

Election Employment

The City of Hamilton Election Office will be taking applications from the public commencing May 8, 2018 for the 2018 Municipal Election on Monday, October 22 and Advance Poll Days. Advance Poll Days will be available prior to the commencement of the application process.

Application and Information forms will be available at all Municipal Service Centres and City Hall as of May 8, 2018.
