Bikeways

A line feature representing the existing bikeways in the City of Hamilton. Type is represented by the following codes:

  • BL = Designated Bike Lane
  • HCOS = Cautionary Un-Signed Bike Route (on streets with High traffic volume)
  • HSBR = Signed On-Street Bike Route (on streets with Moderate to High traffic volume)
  • LCOS = Cautionary Un-Signed Bike Route (on streets with mostly low traffic volume)
  • MCOS = Cautionary Un-Signed Bike Route (on streets with Moderate traffic volume)
  • PMUP = Paved Multi-Use Trail (shared with pedestrians)
  • PS = Paved Shoulder

Building and Demolition Permits

Building construction and demolition permits issued by the City of Hamilton, Building Division as regulated by the Ontario Building Code Act. Issued permits include all construction and demolition activity for Industrial, Commercial, Institutional, Agricultural and Residential sectors.

Buildings

Area features representing buildings were compiled by digitizing the building footprints from the aerial photography. Most residential buildings were compiled as "best-fit" rectangles. Smaller units, such as sheds, may not be captured.

  • Class A (stationary vehicle such as a permanent french fry truck)
  • Class B (a vehicle that travels around such as a travelling food truck or mobile hot dog cart)
  • Class C (i.e. ice cream bicycles)
