The City of Hamilton’s Open Data Program is moving the City toward being a more open, transparent and accessible government.

The goals of the Open Data Program are to:

  • Enable the community to have access to City data easily and transparently.
  • Deliver open data that is meaningful and of high quality.
  • Build a sustainable Open Data Program through the development of policies and growth backed by business processes to continually evolve and improve the open data delivery service.

A change in procedure for tracking Minor Variance Application timelines was implemented for 2016 whereby the timeframe for applications to be heard before the Committee of Adjustment was changed to commence on the date an application is received as opposed to the date on which Building Division’s review of the application is received. This has resulted in an increase of approximately 15 days in the timelines for every application.
