Imagining New Communities

Notice of Open Houses - November 13, 20 and 22, 2018
It's about planning for the future & hearing your ideas!

The City of Hamilton is hosting a series of public open houses to talk about planning for future communities: housing types and density, neighbourhood planning, and zoning. We would like to hear your thoughts. It’s about imagining new communities and what that would look like for you – how you live now and how you want to live in the future.

We have several projects in the works:

The City of Hamilton is embarking on planning for population and employment  growth to 2041, which includes planning for new communities as well as for growth within existing communities. To achieve Provincial growth forecasts and density targets, and to ensure we are developing complete communities, new communities will be planned to achieve higher densities than they have in the past.

In anticipation of this future growth, the City is working on several projects related to residential growth – a long term growth strategy, planning for new communities, and finally residential zoning.  We would like to hear your feedback.

This public consultation is a chance to learn and contribute to the discussion about future growth planned for the City of Hamilton, what density looks like, how to plan for complete communities, and how zoning can contribute to making a great community.
