Municipal Addressing

Bill 109 - the More Homes for Everyone Act, 2022

On April 14, 2022, Bill 109 received Royal Assent. Bill 109 makes legislative changes to the Planning Act and Development Charges Act. As such, development planning processes are currently under review and may result in changes to submission requirements and fees. Check back regularly as the City will post links to regulation and process changes related to Bill 109 as they become available.

The City is responsible for the municipal addressing of all structures and properties in our city.

A number assigned by the Planning and Economic Development Department is considered the official municipal number regardless of any other number assigned by any other outside agency or City department.

How to change or request a new municipal address

To change or add a new municipal number you will need to:

Application fee: You will need to pay the $375 application fee when you submit the application. Fees are charged once per property.

Please contact City Staff prior to submitting an application to ensure that your proposal is acceptable. If the application is accepted, the applicant will receive a confirmation notice letter in the mail. The applicant is responsible for ensuring the owner receives a copy of this notice for their records.
