The City of Hamilton launches the call for submissions for the Urban Design and Architecture Awards

HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton formally opens the call for submissions for the 8th biennial Urban Design and Architecture Awards. The Awards program is now accepting submissions until Friday, June 14, 2019 by 4 pm. The Awards Program celebrates design excellence in our city, which is integral to a vibrant and sustainable community that fosters a high quality of life.

The City is reaching out to all architects, consultants, contractors, engineers, landscape architects, planners, owners, urban designers and students to submit your best projects. Projects can include adaptive reuse, additions, alterations, new buildings, brownfield redevelopment, master plans, ecological restoration, installations, landscapes, open spaces, parks, planning studies, public art, streetscapes and student work.

A high quality, well designed urban environment brings economic and social benefits to its citizens, and the Awards recognize and celebrate this.

The Awards program allows them to be formally recognized and have their work celebrated by our city. I encourage everyone in urban design and architecture to submit their work as it exemplifies their dedication to making our city the best place to raise a child and age successfully.” - Mayor Fred Eisenberger

“The City of Hamilton applauds the work of our many talented city building practitioners, who move the industry forward, challenge the boundaries of design and test the waters to propel design excellence in Hamilton to the next level.” - Steve Robichaud, Chief Planner, City of Hamilton
