HAMILTON, ON – Earlier today, Mayor Fred Eisenberger joined Dr. Elizabeth Richardson, Medical Officer of Health, and the City’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Director, Paul Johnson to update media and the community on the City’s response to COVID-19.

HAMILTON, ON – The City is asking residents to provide input and share feedback on the Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP), a long-term plan to meet Hamilton’s future energy needs while improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The CEEP includes every aspect of city-wide energy use and GHG emissions, from homes to transportation to industry to waste.

Hamilton, ON – Due to the current supply issue with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the province has directed to only continue vaccinating residents, staff and essential caregivers in long-term care homes and high risk retirement homes, and to stop administering first doses of both the COVID-19 Moderna and Pfizer vaccines to all other individuals at this time as we await further supply of the vaccine. This delay is temporary and the province has advised that Pfizer expects they will be able to send enough vaccine to restart by March.

HAMILTON, ON - It is with sadness we learned of the passing of former City Manager and Hamilton Fire Chief, Glen Peace. Glen served as chief administrative officer and city manager for the City of Hamilton as well as general manager of emergency services and acting general manager of community services. From 1971 to 1996, Glen was a firefighter and served as fire chief in both Burlington and Hamilton. Glen was also the Association of Municipalities of Ontario representative for the Provincial Land Ambulance Review.

HAMILTON, ON – The City is asking residents to provide input and share feedback on Hamilton’s growth plans for the next 30 years. Hamilton’s growth forecast includes planning for 236,000 new residents and 122,000 new jobs by the year 2051.

HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton is advising residents that a workplace outbreak has been declared at Hamilton Paramedic Service – Limeridge Base after three employees have tested positive for COVID-19. Hamilton Public Health Services notified Hamilton Paramedic Service and the City of the outbreak late yesterday. The employees are currently self-isolating and Public Health Services are in the process of completing contact tracing to ensure all close contacts also self-isolate. The City extend best wishes to the employees for a speedy recovery.
