City of Hamilton selects 32 artists to wrap Downtown utility boxes

HAMILTON, ON - A volunteer citizen jury has awarded commissions to Hamilton artist Charlit Floriano and 31 other artists for the design of vinyl wraps for utility boxes in Downtown Hamilton. Charlit’s work entitled “Hamilton Enchanted” is a series of art works specifically designed to reflect the locations of the five electrical boxes they will be installed on. An additional 31 artists will have their designs installed on select traffic signal boxes at intersections throughout the downtown.

HAMILTON, ON - The public is invited to review and provide comments on six (6) shortlisted artists’ proposals for a series of artworks to wrap electrical boxes in Downtown Hamilton, on or before Sun. Opening Reception for Jude Johnson’s Anne Foster Windows Display

HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton invites the public to attend the opening reception for the newest Anne Foster Windows display on Friday, June 8 from 6 to 9 pm at the Tourism Hamilton Visitor Centre, 28 James Street North. Created by local musician and visual artist Jude Johnson, the window display includes artwork and objects that celebrate Hamilton’s rich music history.

34th Annual Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek returns June 6 & 7

HAMILTON, ON - May 28, 2015 - The Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek returns to Battlefield House Museum & Park National Historic Site on Saturday June 6, from 10 am to 10 pm and Sunday June 7 from 10 am to 4:30 pm. The Battle of Stoney Creek, considered a turning point in the War of 1812, will be re-enacted Saturday at 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm and on Sunday at 2 pm. Fireworks will follow the Saturday evening re-enactment.
