HAMILTON, ON - September 7, 2016 - The City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Waterfront Trust are seeking the public’s input on Bayfront Park Beach and are inviting residents to participate in a short online survey.
The feedback collected will help identify opportunities for improvements at a beach that was originally intended to be a place for swimming. Bayfront Park Beach was closed for the 2016 swimming season because of poor water quality.
HAMILTON, ON – August 16, 2016 – The City of Hamilton’s Waterfront Development Office has applied to amend a zoning by-law and submitted a draft plan of subdivision for city-owned lands located at Piers 6, 7 and 8 (65 Guise Street East) in Hamilton.
The public have an opportunity to have their say on the application and the City’s proposed land uses for the West Harbor community before a report is prepared for Council consideration this fall. Hamilton, ON – August 9, 2016 – Due to an electrical outage, Hamilton’s Waterfront Trail will have no pathway lighting for approximately one week. The lights are out between Princess Point (Longwood Ave N) and the Floating Bridge (Desjardin Canal/High Level Bridge area).
Residents using the trail after dark should be cautious and pay extra attention to their surroundings. The City has posted temporary signs in the area to notify trail users of the power outage.
Hamilton, ON – Monday, May 30, 2016 – The City of Hamilton is advising the public there will be no through access at the Hamilton Waterfront Trail floating bridge in the Desjardins Canal from Macklin St. N. to Bayfront Park starting Friday June 3, 2016 during weekday daytime hours (approximately 8 am to 4 pm), excluding statutory holidays, due to overhead construction work as part of a CN Rail project.
Work will continue August through December and brief, temporary, unscheduled delays may continue to occur.
