Weekend closures on the LINC beginning Friday

June 3 2020

HAMILTON, ON – In order to complete maintenance on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC), the City of Hamilton will be conducting two maintenance weekends this month beginning Friday, June 5, 2020. The LINC will be closed, one direction at a time, for a whole weekend in each direction. The road will be closed for one weekend in the eastbound direction beginning on Friday, June 5, 2020, and one weekend in the westbound direction beginning on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Eastbound LINC closed this weekend for maintenance

September 5 2019

HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton will close all eastbound lanes on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) this weekend to conduct maintenance. The eastbound lanes will be closed from Mohawk Road W to the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud Street beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, September 6 until approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, September 8. Access between Hwy 403 and the Mohawk Road exit will be maintained.

Westbound LINC closed this weekend for maintenance

August 22 2019

HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton will close all westbound lanes on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) this weekend to conduct maintenance. The westbound lanes will be closed from the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud Street to Mohawk Road West beginning at 9:30 pm on Friday, August 23 until approximately 11 pm on Sunday, August 25. Access between Hwy 403 and the Mohawk Road exit will be maintained.

The LINC will be closed, one side at a time, for a whole weekend on each side. The road will be closed for one weekend in the westbound direction in late August, and one weekend in the eastbound direction in early September.

Overhead sign structure repairs & inspections

August 12 2019

HAMILTON, ON – Last month, the City of Hamilton closed the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) for five nights to complete repairs to the overhead sign support structures. This work stemmed from inspections that were completed by external consultants in 2012 and 2017. In early July 2019, new leadership in Public Works learned of the inspection reports and identified that not all of the recommendations in them had been addressed.

Temporary cameras being installed on Linc and RHVP for transportation study

April 18 2019

HAMILTON, ON – Beginning Sunday, April 21, temporary cameras will be installed on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway and the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) to facilitate a transportation study. The City is undertaking this study to determine traffic volumes for motorists that use these parkways as a short-cut instead of using Highway 403 and the Queen Elizabeth Way. By capturing images of vehicles and license plates at either end of the Linc and the RHVP, the City will be able to track the number of vehicles that travel the full length of both parkways.
