HAMILTON, ON – The Medical Officer of Health has cancelled the Heat Warning issued on June 28, 2021

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton healthcare partners continue to make progress in vaccinating members of the community who fall into the Province’s COVID-19 Vaccination Framework. We are pleased to announce that to date, we have administered approximately 443,578 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Upwards of 71.8 per cent of Hamiltonians over the age of 18 have received a vaccine to date with 18.9 per cent having completed their vaccine series. In addition, 53 per cent of youth ages 12-17 have received a first dose to date.

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton healthcare partners continue to make progress in vaccinating members of the community who fall into Phases 1 & 2 of the Province’s COVID-19 Vaccination Framework. We are pleased to announce that to date, we have administered approximately 252,370 doses of COVD-19 vaccine – with over 49.2% of Hamiltonians over the age of 18 receiving a vaccine to date. In accordance with Provincial direction, healthcare workers who have been identified in the "high-risk" category qualify to have their second doses moved to earlier than 16 weeks.

HAMILTON, ON – City of Hamilton Public Health Services has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Rebecca Towers (235 Rebecca Street), a 164 unit 17-storey apartment building in Hamilton. Currently there are 28 active COVID-19 cases, and a total 55 cases and one death having been identified since the middle of March. These cases are spread across 17 different units on 10 separate floors. We appreciate how concerning this is for the residents of this building and the impact COVID-19 is having on their tight-knit community.

HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Farmers’ Market are advising residents that two individuals working at a stall in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market have tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals last worked at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market on April 8, 2021 and are currently in self-isolation.

HAMILTON, ON – Earlier today, Mayor Fred Eisenberger joined Dr. Elizabeth Richardson, Medical Officer of Health, and the City’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Director, Paul Johnson to update media and the community on the City’s response to COVID-19.

HAMILTON, ON - The UK variant of COVID-19 has been identified in a positive COVID-19 case in the city of Hamilton. Modelling and epidemiological studies suggest that the COVID-19 variant first identified in the United Kingdom can spread easier and faster. Hamilton Public Services continues to monitor the local situation as it relates to COVID-19 and the presence of variants within the community.

HAMILTON, ON – Today, the City of Hamilton launches Virtual Assistant (VA), a new tool which will enable Public Health Services to increase the speed and capacity for contact tracing and case management. The VA is an internet and text messaging tool that will support the COVID-19 response in our community.
