Updated: April 12, 2022 HAMILTON, ON - On Monday, April 4, the City of Hamilton will close Cannon St W between MacNab St N and Bay St N in order to complete work at the Park St and Cannon St W intersection as part of the Central Neighbourhood upgrades project in the downtown core. A brief summary of the Central Neighbourhood upgrades include:

HAMILTON, ON - To safely address an urgent erosion and slope stability concern along the Sydenham Road escarpment access, the City of Hamilton will close the Sydenham escarpment access this week to immediately conduct required repairs. Concerns about the stability of the escarpment in this area were raised through a routine maintenance review and have been identified as needing immediate attention in the interest of public safety.

HAMILTON, ON – In advance of the 108th Grey Cup game taking place on Sunday, December 12, 2021, motorists should expect road closures and traffic delays in the vicinity of Tim Hortons Field for the duration of the weekend. Temporary road closures this weekend These roads will be temporarily closed from 5 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 to 7 am on Monday, December 13, 2021:

HAMILTON, ON - To safely complete bridge rehabilitation, the City of Hamilton will close the eastbound lanes of the Burlington St E overpass between Gage Ave N and Sherman Ave N beginning Monday, October 4, 2021 for approximately four weeks. The work is expected to wrap up on or before November 1, 2021, weather permitting.   Westbound traffic will not be impacted by this work. HSR will not be impacted by this closure. Motorists can continue to travel east around the overpass closure by staying on the surface roadway, Burlington Street E.

HAMILTON, ON – In order to safely complete the installation of a sanitary sewer and road reconstruction DeFaveri Construction will close Fifty Road between South Service Road and Barton Street beginning Monday, September 20, 2021 until December 20, 2021. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and to expect traffic delays in the area. There are no impacts to HSR routes. All local business will remain open during construction.

HAMILTON, ON – In order to safely complete the installation of a watermain, sanitary and storm sewers, road reconstruction DESO Construction Limited will close Centre Road between Concession 5 Road East and Parkside Drive beginning Monday, August 23, 2021 until January 10, 2022. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and to expect traffic delays in the area. There are no impacts to HSR routes. The City of Hamilton thanks motorists for their patience as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.

HAMILTON, ON – To safely complete upgrades at the wastewater pumping station on Old Dundas Rd, the City of Hamilton will close the northbound lane of Old Dundas Rd between Wilson St E and the pumping station at 592 Old Dundas Rd beginning Tuesday, August 3 for approximately three months. During this time, Old Dundas Rd will operate as a one-way, southbound street between the pumping station and the intersection of Old Dundas Rd and Wilson St E.

HAMILTON, ON – In order to safely complete sewer by-pass installation, a series of intermittent interruptions and lane restrictions will take place at the intersection of Rymal Road East and Upper Wellington Street and surrounding areas beginning on Monday, July 19, 2021.    Dates for the work are weather permitting. HAMILTON, ON – To safely complete maintenance at the Tim Hortons Field, the City of Hamilton will close Balsam Ave N between Beechwood Ave and Cannon St E beginning Monday, July 5, 2021 for approximately four days. The closure is expected to wrap up on or before Thursday, July 8, weather permitting. During this time, the sidewalk on the west side will also be closed while crews complete work. Motorists should follow signs for detour. Local access will be maintained.
