HAMILTON, ON – Today at General Issues Committee (GIC), City of Hamilton staff presented a report recommending Waterfront Shores Corporation as the Preferred Proponent of the Pier 8 Development Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The announcement comes following a thorough and comprehensive evaluation process of four received proposals. Hamilton City Council will meet on June 13th to consider final approval of staff’s recommendation.

Hamilton, ON. – It’s the final stage for four proponents vying to deliver the Pier 8 waterfront development. Now in this final stage, the Request for Proposals (RFP) required firms to provide both a technical and a financial proposal that closed just days ago on April 4, 2018. The preferred proponent of the RFP will be given the exclusive opportunity to negotiate with the City of Hamilton for the purchase of the lands in order to build and deliver the Pier 8 waterfront development in Hamilton’s West Harbour.

HAMILTON, ON - October 13, 2017 - To safely continue ongoing redevelopment of the West Harbour Waterfront, Sun-Canadian Pipeline, in cooperation with the City of Hamilton, will close a portion of the asphalt trail/sidewalk on Discovery Drive and on Guise Street. The closures are necessary to complete the relocation of petroleum gas pipeline. The closure will begin on Monday, October 16, 2017 and is expected to be completed by Friday, November 3, 2017. 

HAMILTON, ON - September 22, 2017 - Mayor Fred Eisenberger today announced at Pier 8 that the City of Hamilton will award the design contract of the new Pier 8 Promenade Park to the design team led by Forrec Ltd. for their proposal “Hamilton: Hammer City” as winner of the Pier 8 Promenade Park design competition.

HAMILTON, ON - August 23, 2017 - Tomorrow, on August 24, the public will get the first opportunity to view the design concepts created by the shortlisted design teams for the Pier 8 Promenade Park design competition. Hamilton, ON, July 21, 2017 - The City of Hamilton is pleased to announce that the much-anticipated Pier 8 Request for Qualifications (RFQ) officially closed on July 10, 2017 and that thirteen formal prequalification submissions have been received on behalf of private-sector consortia and individual companies.  In total, 31 firms, all of which are based in Ontario, comprise the submitting teams.
