Clean Water and Wastewater Fund Program

Water, wastewater and storm water infrastructure is essential to keeping our waterways clean and our communities healthy and livable. The Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF), Infrastructure Canada and Infrastructure Ontario are providing communities with more reliable water and wastewater systems so that both drinking water and effluent meet legislated standards.

Project Description Federal Funding Stream
Watermain Structural Lining - internal lining of 4.5 km of metal watermains up to 400mm in diameter, to reduce the occurrence of watermain breaks and to improve the quality of the water delivered Cleaning and Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) structural lining of watermains and associated construction at various locations within the City of Hamilton.
Wastewater System Lining - lining 20 km of brick, concrete, clay, and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) sewers up to 1500mm diameter, to reduce occurrence of structural failure and back-ups Cleaning, Inspection and Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) Structural Rehabilitation of Existing Mainline Sewers at various locations.
Condition Assessment Program for Mainline Sewers throughout the City Inspection and analysis of approximately 90 km of sewer ranging in size from 150mm to 5.4m in diameter, at various locations throughout the city.
Western Interceptor Sewer CCTV and Sonar Inspection Inspection and analysis of the Western Interceptor Sewer for structural condition assessment and to determine volume of sediment inside the sewer. 
Sewer Lateral Rehabilitation Program for private drains throughout the City Cleaning, Inspection, and Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) Structural Rehabilitation of Sewer Laterals including their connection to the mainline sewer using a one-piece CIPP method at various locations.
Metallic Watermain Condition Assessment Program Inspection and evaluation of watermains ranging in size from 400mm to 2250mm (millimetres) in diameter, at various locations throughout the city.
Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe Condition Assessment Program Inspection and evaluation of watermains ranging in size from 400mm to 2250mm (millimetres) in diameter, at various locations throughout the city.
Critical Watermain Inspection Program Inspection and evaluation of watermains ranging in size from 400mm to 2250mm (millimetres) in diameter, at various locations throughout the city.
