I want to become a lifeguard. What training is available?

The City provides training programs through RecConnect for First Aid, Aquatic leadership/ lifesaving and re-certification courses such as:

  • First Aid Standard with CPR B
  • Advanced Instructor course/ Examiners Standards clinic
  • Standard First Aid with CPR C re-certification

How do I become a recreation leader?

The City provides the following programs to prepare you to become a recreation leader:

  • Leader in Training
  • Recreation Leadership Certification Course
  • HIGH FIVE (public courses coming in 2016)
