Update: Two down-bound lanes open for Claremont Access. Sherman Access is reduced to one lane.
The City of Hamilton’s Environmental Remediation and Site Enhancement or ERASE Community Improvement Plan is a set of programs designed to encourage and promote brownfield redevelopment.
The plan provides financial incentives to help clean up and replace ERASE brownfields with productive economic land uses. This will improve both economic opportunities and environmental conditions in the city.
Properties within the ERASE Community Improvement Project Area are eligible for the programs, if they meet the program and City requirements.
These programs include:
- Study grant
- Redevelopment grant
- Education tax assistance
- The Hamilton Downtown or West Harbourfront remediation loan program
- Municipal acquisition and partnership
- Development charge reduction
This single point-of-contact provides ERASE applications guidance, brownfield information and access to regulatory and planning contacts. It also serves as an advocate and liaison between City departments, other government agencies and participating brownfield partners.
