Update: Two down-bound lanes now open for Claremont Access, Sherman Access to be reduced to one lane starting April 1
The ERASE Study Grant Program promotes the undertaking of environmental studies so that more and better information is available with respect to the type of contamination and potential remediation costs on brownfield properties. There is very little information on the existence, type, and extent of contamination, as well as the estimated cost of site remediation for brownfield properties in the project area (PDF, 538 KB).
Through the Study Grant program matching grants are available from the City of Hamilton to pay for up to one-half the cost of a Phase II and/or a Phase III Environmental Site Assessment (Remedial Action Plan). The maximum City contribution for each study is $20,000 excluding HST to a maximum of two studies and $25,000 excluding HST for each property. As Phase I ESA’s have become a standard requirement of most financial institutions and do not provide detailed information with respect to the type of contamination and cost of remediation, Phase I ESA’s are not eligible for funding under this program.
If you are a property owner or purchaser of potentially contaminated land within the brownfield redevelopment area you may be eligible.
