The first project of the Pipeline Trail Master Plan is being implemented.
The Pipeline Trail Master Plan recognized the trail section located at 140 Kenilworth Avenue North as a node. Accordingly, a parkette is planned for this area to accommodate trail use plus community gatherings. The parkette is 0.15 hectares in size and located between Kenilworth Avenue North and Crosthwaite Avenue North.
The Public Art Master Plan recognized this trail section as a site for future Public Art. This element will be planned and installed upon the completion of the parkette.
Spring - Fall 2017 - Construction of parkette begins
December 2016 - Demolition of existing parking lot complete
April 19, 2016 - Public Meeting

This parkette is located along a section of the Pipeline trail. The trail is 6 km long and is located between Ottawa Street North at Main Street East and the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology on Woodward Avenue.
Aside from functioning as a multi-use trail, the Pipeline trail is also used for Hamilton Water infrastructure below grade.
