Tuesday August 6: Due to weather, some Supie programs have closed today. Programs that remain open, may unexpectedly close if lightning is reported in the area.

Free Summer Supie program - July 2 to August 23, 2019

New this year! The Supie program will now operate until August 23, 2019 (1 week later). 
Hours have also been updated to 11 am to 4 pm, and no longer has a scheduled 1 hour closure during the day. View the Supie map for specific hours/days for each park.


The Supie at your neighbourhood location is trained in all types of activities from sports to crafts and is on site to program for kids ages 6 to 12. Parents are always welcome to come and participate in activities with their children. Exciting activities are different every day, so visit often and don’t miss out!

  • Supie staff are in the parks to implement and lead programs and are not there to replace parent/guardian supervision
  • On Friday mornings, all Supies attend training and report to their regularly scheduled parks from 1 to 4 pm.
  • Supie locations are subject to change without notice
  • Supie program hours vary by location. Please refer to location list for information on the parks near you!
  • Supie parks take full advantage of water features like spray pads and wading pools during the hot summer months.

Intergenerational Supie Program

Inside Sackville Hill Seniors Centre
Tuesday & Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 am
July 2 to August  22, 2019

Come out to enjoy a morning of playing games, making crafts and maybe learning something new. Continue the fun in the afternoon and join the supie in the park at Sackville Hill. All participants under the age of 55 are to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 55.

Join us as we celebrate with birthday activities. Thursdays at 1pm

What to bring to Supie

To have a positive and enjoyable program experience, children should bring the following each day:

  • healthy snacks
  • refillable water bottle
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • running shoes/athletic sandals (no flip flops)

Inclement Weather

If the weather is not appropriate for outdoor activities (e.g. rain, thunder, lightning, heat or smog warnings), Supie activities will be modified to ensure participant safety. Supie locations may be closed in the event of extreme weather, where it is unsafe for children to participate. 

In the case of an extended Heat Warning, all Supie Programs will be cancelled.

Behavioural Expectations

All children and youth attending recreation programs are expected to behave in a manner which ensures their own safety and the safety of other participants, staff and volunteers in the program. Children not following safety rules will not be permitted to participate.
