Prenatal Nutrition Programs in Hamilton

The Welcome Baby prenatal nutrition in-person groups (Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program - CPNP) will remain closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are accepting new participants who are pregnant and looking for extra support by providing phone support and resources.

Healthy Growth and Development ServicesHealthy Growth and Development Program services that remain closed during the COVID-19 pandemic include parenting sessions (i.e., Parenting With Love, Triple P), in-class prenatal sessions, Car Seat Clinics, Check-it Out drop ins, and in-person Welcome Baby prenatal nutrition groups (Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program -CPNP).

is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We help expecting families and families that have children 0-6 years of age. You can learn and ask questions about: breastfeeding, child safety, growth and development, healthy eating, positive parenting, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, preparing for a healthy pregnancy and other programs and services in Hamilton.

Public Health Services’ phone and virtual breastfeeding support can be accessed by calling the Health Connections phone line at 905-546-3550.

  • Learn about healthy pregnancy, healthy eating, breastfeeding, phases of labour and infant feeding in free one-on-one prenatal sessions
  • Postnatal group for parents and children from 0-6 years old
  • Baby massage class for parents and infants from 0 to 12 months
  • Free childcare during program for children from 2 to 6 years old
  • Access to food, bus tickets and vitamins are provided to low income women 
  • You must speak French to access this program
  • Wheelchair accessible location

  • Learn about breastfeeding, labour support, children’s growth and development
  • Food vouchers, lunch or snack and bus tickets are provided
  • Aboriginal women and their families can access this free program
  • You must be pregnant or have a child less than 6 months of age to attend prenatal classes or the postnatal circle
  • Prenatal classes are Thursday 1 to 4 pm
  • The postnatal circle is Tuesday 9:30 am to 2 pm
