Public Health Services Children's Preventive Dental Clinic


Children's Preventive Dental Clinics are currently closed. Families can get help for their children with urgent dental needs by calling the Dental Line at 905-546-2424 ext. 5369.

The Public Health Services Children’s Preventive Dental Clinics provide free preventive dental care and Healthy Smiles Ontario assessments for Hamilton residents under 18 years of age who have a low income.

How to access the Dental Clinics

If your child is enrolled in the Healthy Smiles Ontario Program (HSO), they can be seen in the clinic. Call 905-546-2424 ext.5369 to book an appointment. If your child is NOT already enrolled in HSO and you have a low income, call the above number to book a dental screening.

  • Bring your child’s Ontario Health Card to the appointment.

The City of Hamilton provides free visits with a dental hygienist for children and youth under age 18. 

Services include:

  • Healthy Smiles Ontario assessments and dental screenings
  • Teeth cleaning and scaling
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Dental sealants - white coating on the chewing surfaces of molars
  • Information about free dental care
