Dental programs for adults and children
These dental programs are available for adults and children.
1. Dental Health Bus
- Provides free emergency dental services to Hamilton residents
- For people with low income and no other dental coverage

2. Special Supports
- Provides free coverage for some dental services
- For people with low income and no dental coverage

3. Public Health Services Dental Clinic
- Provides free dental services for people who do not receive coverage through Special Supports
- For people with low income and no dental coverage
- Services by appointment only

Dental programs for children and youth
These dental programs are available for children and youth under 18 years of age.
1. Children in Need of Treatment
- Children in Need of Treatment, or CINOT, pays the cost of dental services
- For children and youth under 18 years old who have an urgent problem with a tooth
- A dentist or dental hygienist looks at your child’s teeth
- If you are approved for the program, you will get a claim form that you can take to a dentist of your choice; the dentist will provide the dental services
- CINOT is for people with low income who cannot pay for their child to go to the dentist and have no dental insurance

2. Healthy Smiles Ontario
- Healthy Smiles Ontario pays the cost of dental services
- For children and youth under 18 years old who live in Hamilton with no dental insurance
- Your adjusted family net income must be less than $21, 638 per year to access the program if you have one child. The adjusted net family income limit required to access the program increases by about $1638 for each additional child in your family.
