Ontario Early Years Centres (OEYC) provides a range of free parenting, health and educational resources and supports for children from prenatal to six years.

Kids at Literacy Program

Parenting & Family Literacy Centres are school-based programs for you and your child aged birth to six years that run during the school day.  Literacy centres are free to attend and no registration is required.


The Hamilton Early Years Community Plan (EYCP) 2016-2020 outlines the strategic priorities and recommended goals for the Hamilton early year system over the next five years.  It builds on a decade of collective leadership in planning and implementing a comprehensive system of services and supports for children and families.

Canada Learning Bond is offered by the Government of Canada to help you start saving for your child’s education after high school.  Eligible families can receive up to $2,000 towards post-secondary education.

The Financial Supports Catalogue identifies several resources available to low-income families to help with their basic needs.  Some of these resources are not well known by families, yet they provide an opportunity to access additional funds.
