Vision Zero is a global movement transforming the way we use, interact and travel on our roads. It has a simple and clear goal: zero fatalities or serious injuries on roadways. Vision Zero aims for safer streets through improved education, enforcement, engineering, evaluation and engagement.
The City of Hamilton has partnered with Microsoft and other municipalities in North America on a Video Analytics project. Video Analytics will help identify near-miss collisions that occur at intersections in Hamilton.
We are asking residents to participate
Your participation will help “teach” computers to recognize vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. The goal is to build a computer program that will identify these road users on its own. This will help detect road conflicts and aid traffic engineers to take preventative action to avoid collisions.
How it works
- View a short clip of a pre-recorded traffic scene.
- Use a tool to label and track the movement of each person or vehicle within the screen.
- Submit the info you record.
- Watch and label as many traffic scenes as you wish!
