Bishop's Park

Bishop’s Park is located at 91 East Ave S in Hamilton, Ward 3. 

The park is approximately 890m² in size and sits at the corner of East Ave S and Hunter Street E within the Stinson Neighbourhood. Bishop's Park is a peaceful green space featuring several large canopy trees that provide ample shade for the bench seating areas and asphalt pathway that connects East Ave S and Hunter Street E. 

The existing park amenities are nearing the end of their lifecycle and require replacement. 

Proposed Concept for Bishops Park

Features: 

• At the East end of the park, there is a 3M asphalt pathway connecting from the sidewalk that goes through the park. Adjacent to the pathway entrance there are four proposed sensory panels. 
• A drinking fountain with hose bib and monarch butterfly art wrap is proposed at the east end of the park along the asphalt pathway. 
• At the North East corner of the park is a proposed pollinator garden with a new light standard proposed within the garden bed. Also within the garden bed is existing rockery relocated from within the existing site.
• Across from the proposed pollinator garden is a Concrete courtyard for the community to gather. 
• The asphalt pathway continues along the north end of the property and connects to the sidewalk to the west of the property. Along this pathway are two benches and two proposed “dice game surfaces” which contain built in chess boards. 
• The center of the park is open green space with two sets of concrete cornhole boards. 
• The existing park sign at the south west of the property is to remain, with an added pollinator garden to create an entry feature.
