Inclement Weather Impacts - February 18, 2026

All City of Hamilton administrative offices, facilities, services and programs are open on Wednesday, February 18, with the exception of:

Accessible Transportation Services

DARTS services are cancelled. Passengers with scheduled trips will be notified directly.

Macassa Lodge Adult Day Program

The Adult Day Program is cancelled to ensure the safety of our participants, clients, and staff.

Recreation Service Impacts

Due to the closure of schools by the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board due to inclement weather, programs occurring in the gymnasium in shared facilities at the following centres are cancelled:  

• Beasley Community Centre (Dr. J. E. Davey ES)  
• Dalewood Recreation Centre (Dalewood ES) 
• Domenic Agostino Riverdale Community Centre (Lake Avenue ES) 
• Hill Park Recreation Centre (Hill Park Learning Centre) 
• Kanétskare Recreation Centre (Kanétskare ES) 
• Norman Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre (Cathy Wever ES) 
• Sir Allan MacNab Recreation Centre (Sir Allan MacNab SS) 
• Sir Winston Churchill Recreation Centre (Sir Winston Churchill SS) 

As a result of closure of schools by the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board due to inclement weather, Afterschool Program is cancelled at the following locations: 

• Bennetto Community Centre
• Norman Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre
• Westmount Recreation Centre
• Sir Wilfrid Laurier Recreation Centre

Seniors’ Centres (day and evening programming cancelled, buildings remain open): 

• Ancaster Senior Achievement Centre 
• Flamborough Seniors’ Centre 
• Rosedale Seniors’ Centre
• Sackville Seniors’ Centre

Keddy Trail Closure

Keddy Trail is closed as of 6:15 am for winter maintenance.

Roads 

Road crews will continue to clear roads, sidewalks, transit stops, and school zones as needed. Please use caution and allow extra time for travel.
