The City of Hamilton offers the following parenting groups run by Public Health Nurses and Clinical Therapists:
Theraplay
Group Theraplay® is for parents/caregivers of children two to six years of age. Parents and children attend together and focus on building their relationship through fun activities and interaction.
Sessions will help parents to:
- recognize their child’s emotional cues and support them to respond to their feelings
- build additional skills to help calm and soothe their child when they are upset or frustrated
- learn new strategies to improve their child’s confidence
- continue to support their child’s best development
Program consists of:
- One-hour group sessions for eight weeks
- Bus tickets to get to the group and return home
Session & Registration Information
Sessions are free, but you must register to attend. Various dates, times and locations available. Please 905-546-3550 for more information and to register.
