The Field of Flags Honours our Veterans. Hamilton Municipal Cemeteries places Canadian Flags in front of our Historic Gate House at Hamilton Cemetery (777 York Blvd) to honour our Veterans each November.
Hamilton Municipal Cemeteries is honoured to pay tribute to our fallen. Every Remembrance Day, Canadian Flags are placed in front of the headstones of veterans in the Field of Honour at Woodland Cemetery, and our staff place Canadian Flags in front of Hamilton Cemetery to honour and remember of Veterans.
Sunrise Service – Remembrance Day
A Sunrise Service of Remembrance will take place at Woodland Cemetery – Field of Honour to commemorate and honour those who have served our country. On Remembrance Day and will pay tribute to fallen soldiers by placing Canadian Flags on the memorial site and having a sunrise service of remembrance observing two minutes of silence.
A Service of Remembrance
The holiday season is a time for families to draw together for celebration and warm memories. Hamilton Municipal Cemeteries realizes for those who have lost a loved one the Christmas season can be difficult. Join us for a special Memorial Service of Remembrance, to remember those who have passed. A non-denominations service and the lighting of the Tree of Remembrance. Trees of Remembrance
The Trees of Remembrance display is an acknowledgment of a life that has been lived and the memories that they endure. The Trees of Remembrance will be lit nightly. The tribute of light will take place at Hamilton Municipal Cemetery (777 York Blvd) and Mountview Gardens Cemetery (735 Hwy #8) to honour those who have passed.
