Municipal Parking Garage Rehabilitation & Summers Lane Reconstruction
The City of Hamilton is working on rehabilitation and reconstruction work at the Convention Centre Parking Garage and Summers Lane. Summers Lane rehabilitation and redesign is to provide a safer, more comfortable, and more accessible experience for pedestrians. Rehabilitation and reconstruction work aims to enhance user experience and safety while extending the service life of the structure.
Convention Centre Parking Garage Structural Rehabilitation & Summers Lane Reconstruction
Project Details
Scope of work includes:
- Structural rehabilitation and concrete repairs including podium slab, soffit, columns and walls. These works will include reinforcing steel repairs.
- Waterproofing to address deterioration and deficiencies on Summers Lane and lower levels. This work will include drainage upgrades and improved stormwater management measures.
- Construction of new sidewalks and the installation of raised pedestrian crossings.
- Removal and replacement of asphalt pavement as part of the roadway works.
- Conversion of one-hour parking to drop-off/pick-up laybys along the Summers Lane corridor to enhance traffic flow.
