Enhancing Public Trust
The City is committed to openness and transparency in its decision-making and service delivery. To help deliver on this commitment, there are a number of mechanisms in place to promote and protect accountability and transparency in our government.
Office of the City Auditor
Provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the City of Hamilton’s operations.
Reports directly to Council and performs four basic roles: advisory, education, complaint investigation and complaint adjudication.
Ensuring the public disclosure of lobbying activities. Search the lobbyist registry and register as a lobbyist.
Council & Senior Leadership Expenses
Year to date and prior year expenses for a select group of accounts approved by the Governance Committee.
Conflict of Interest Registry
A registry of declarations of interest available for public inspection.
Freedom of Information & Privacy Protection
You can formally request access to information or records in the custody of the City.
Reporting Fraud & Waste
The Fraud and Waste Hotline provides City of Hamilton employees, contractors, vendors, and members of the public a convenient, confidential, and anonymous way to report suspicion or proof of wrongdoing.
