Woodlands Park Improvements

Woodlands Park is an existing 2.13-hectare neighbourhood park located at 501 Barton Street East within Ward 3 in Hamilton.

It is one of the City's oldest parks and currently contains several amenities including a playground, outdoor fitness equipment, a soccer field, a multi-use court, a spray pad (completed in 2024) a fieldhouse building and parking lot.

Next Steps

The project team is looking for the Public’s assistance in shaping the vision for future park enhancements here at Woodlands Park. In June 2025, a public survey will be available on the City’s Engage Hamilton site. We are looking for suggestions and priorities for what to include in the park enhancement plans. 

Some common suggestions we’ve already heard include:

• Adding fitness equipment to the park
• Parking lot improvements
• Additional tree plantings throughout the park
• Improve the existing soccer field
• Add a soccer field if space allows
• Improvements to shade and seating areas within the park
• Add another shade structure
• Create a separation (buffer) from Barton St.
