Seniors Clubs
Seniors Clubs are locations with an active Seniors Board who provide programs and services for older adults. Programs are often dependent on volunteer convenors and instructors to assist in organizing and offering programs. The City of Hamilton is responsible for the facility operation and ongoing maintenance, which is provided in-kind to keep costs low and accessible for the community.
- Seniors Boards set their own prices for programs to recover instructor and program costs, with cash paid directly to the instructor each class.
- Some programs may require registration in advance or may be full and participants should reach out to the club directly for more information.
- A Seniors Club Location Membership is required to access programs offered. Memberships can be purchased in-person directly from the club (cash only).
- Seniors Boards follow bylaws and a constitution that guides decision making, use of finances, or programs offered. Annual General Meetings are held to update members on changes and elect new volunteers to the Board. Contact the Board for more information on their constitution or ways to volunteer.
- The City of Hamilton generally does not offer programs in Senior’s Club spaces and suggestions for new programs or services can be made directly to the Board.
