Beginning April 1, 2026, the City of Hamilton is transitioning water, wastewater and stormwater utility billing from Alectra Utilities, enabling the Hamilton Utilities Billing (HUB) team to manage water meter reading, billing and customer service. This change reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to improve efficiency, make services more transparent and easier to access, while allowing Alectra Utilities to focus on electricity delivery.
Over the coming months, water, wastewater and stormwater customers currently with Alectra, will receive more detailed information to help guide them through the transition. This will include updates on when to expect their next bill, the different options available for making payments, and how to sign up for convenient paperless billing. Customers will also receive step-by-step instructions and resources to ensure they have everything they need for a smooth and seamless experience during this change.
Note: Customers who receive their electricity billing from Alectra will continue to do so after April 2026. Account numbers and payment methods will remain the same.
