The property is currently a municipal parking lot. To permit residential development a Zoning By-law Amendment application will be required.
To support the Zoning By-law Amendment application, a number of studies will be submitted. The studies will be made available once the application has been submitted to the Planning Division.
The lands will be offered for a nominal value to a non-profit housing provider to develop and operating housing, including a minimum number of affordable units. Minimum affordability requirements and other obligations will be secured through the utlimate agreement with the selected provider.
Should the Zoning By-law Amendment application be approved by Council, the lands will be sold or leased at a nominal value to a non-profit affordable housing provider to develop and operate housing, including affordable units. A minimum of 30% of the units must meet the City’s definition of affordable. The future non-profit developer will determine the final unit mix and number of parking spaces provided.
