HSR is testing solar-powered lighting at select bus stops to enhance your safety, visibility, and overall customer experience while waiting for the bus.
Brighter Stops Ahead
Lights have been installed at the following locations as part of a pilot project running until mid-2026:
- 1039 Wilson St. (Route 5 Delaware)
- Wilson at Wilson Trinity Commons (Route 44 Rymal)
A third location, Glover at Highway 8 (Route 55 Stoney Creek Central), will be installed later this year.

To activate the light, simply press the button. The area will stay illuminated for five minutes, helping you to be seen more easily by bus operators, drivers, and others nearby. These lights are especially helpful at stops with limited street lighting in the immediate area.
User Feedback & Testing
We’re exploring how this technology can make your transit experience safer and more comfortable, day or night. HSR will run this pilot for one year to collect feedback on the device performance and customer experience.
