Eating Well in the City of Hamilton
Not all Hamilton residents can afford a basic, healthy diet. The Guide is maintained by Red Book Community Information and lists places where providers can refer clients to receive free or low-cost food.
Affordable Transit Pass Program
Helping employed city of Hamilton residents living with a low income purchase an adult monthly bus pass for half price.
Dental & Denture Services
Available to those receiving Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities or low income adults between the ages 18 to 64 years.
Funerals, Burials & Cremations
Financial assistance on behalf of deceased Hamilton residents who do not have sufficient funds in their estate to fully cover the cost of a basic funeral, burial and/or cremation.
Home Management Program
Programs to teach individuals, families and groups, through practical instruction and coaching, the skills necessary to be more successful and independent in their day to day living.
Special Supports Program
A wide range of health related benefits to City residents living independently in the community to improve their quality of life, health, wellness, safety and self-sufficiency.
Free Menstrual Products Pilot
Access to free tampons and pads in women’s and universal washrooms at select recreation centres across the City.
