Trees are important to a healthy, vibrant and welcoming downtown and business improvements area.
They reduce heat exposure and temperatures, manage rainwater, and create more inviting streets for residents, businesses and visitors.
Why is this Good for Business?
A greener downtown with tree-lined streets can help attract visitors, support local shops and restaurants, and contribute to a stronger local economy.
What is the Challenge?
Urban trees face many stressors and can be some of the most challenging to grow. The city is providing more suitable growing conditions for new trees and existing trees that are struggling by improving soil conditions and expanding growing space.
