Winter Weather Impacts
A significant winter storm is forecast to impact the City of Hamilton beginning late this morning and continuing into the evening.
Environment Canada has issued an Orange Warning – Snowfall, with 20 to 35 cm of snow possible. There will be reduced visibility with heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Closures
- All City facilities, including arenas, community centres and the Gage Park Greenhouse, will close at noon today.
- All Hamilton Civic Museums are closed.
Warming Centre Remains Open
- The emergency Warming Centre at Bennetto Community Centre will remain open for anyone in need of a warm indoor space.
HSR
- HSR will be operating on its usual schedule and service may be slow due to the weather conditions.
- We will share any service disruptions on social media.
- Customers can check for their next bus using the real-time trip planners.
Accessible Transportation Services
- We are monitoring weather for DARTS service and would ask clients to consider cancelling non urgent trips.
- Any updates will be shared via social media including on Twitter @dartstransit.
- Customers who don’t intend to travel will be asked to call 905-529-1717 to cancel any scheduled trips.
