Election Sign Consultation

On January 11, 2021, the Planning Committee considered a report To Amend By-law No. 10-197, the Hamilton Sign By-law, respecting Election Signs. Committee recommended that staff conduct further public consultation on the By-law Amendment prior to the document’s review at the General Issues Committee on February 16, 2022. 

The public is invited to review the revised By-law to Amend By-law No. 10-197 available here. Feedback on the any component of the By-law is welcome; staff are specifically seeking feedback on the following sections:

  • Revised definition of “Election Sign” found at section 1; and
  • Revised restrictions on signage around a Voting Place on Voting Day or an Advance Voting Day found at section 25.
